With burgeoning demand for AMCO-YUASA batteries, expansion became a sine qua non. The marked presence of TAFE infrastructure in Chennai prompted all expansion under the umbrella of TAFE. Thus the TAFE-Power Source Division came to be located in Chennai as an extended production facility to produce batteries in 1993.
